"Hello Harri -
I joined this group just to ask you a question about a mysterious medal with a blue swastika that my grandfather had in his belongings. My Grandfather was never a soldier in WWI or WWII and he was in no way connected to nazi philosophy. He was raised a Quaker (pacifist) in the State of Iowa in the USA. I understand that a blue swastika is an emblem of the Finnish Air Force. Some of his family is Danish, but I can find no links Finland nor to any extreme nazi beliefs.
It is a roughly 2 cm gold medallion with a beautiful blue enamel swastika. It is on a golden chain attached to a black ribbon. The ribbon is folded down on itself about half-way and the medal hangs from under the folded over part The top(along the fold) of the ribbon has a chain also - like the whole thing was made to be attached to another pin or to hang from another medallion.
It is only 10 - 12 cm long including the chain. I have no picture to send you, but could get one. My Aunt has this ribbon - and we are both very curious what it might be.
If you don't have any idea, do you know who I could ask?
