Pneumatic Flight Simulator for Sale
Lähetetty: Pe Helmi 11, 2011 23:50
Terve Flying Finns,
For those of you interested in a taking your simming to the next level, I have a pneumatic flight simulator with 2 axes of movement for sale. Climb and dive; bank to port and starboard at a 50° angles.
This flight simulator used an old Rock n´ Ride motion seat but has been greatly modified.
Here is an original review:

and here’s what an unmodded serial port version would cost you today.

Complete RNR +Modifications:
-enlarged base-frame
-new chairframe with race chair
-enforcements of all the arms
-numerous new attachments such as pedal mount and joystick mount
-new SMC cylinders (total of 4x , with currently 3 used) (270mm hub , 50 mm piston)
-SMC control valves (4x 5/3 centre closed) on 1 backplane
-Velleman USB control board connected to a
-Velleman relay board
- all this housed in a custom made controller box with power supply
-movement control upgraded to bowden cables on original potentiometers
-a black hi-rez 1600x1200 17" CRT screen
-also included are the 2 original RnR cylinders
-the original rnr-board (partly reused for the sliding potentiometers)
-the original valveblock
-a manometer for controlling air pressure over long distance
-bass shaker cone and controller
I am moving and have not yet completed this project. While the hardware components are ready to go, you will need to install and calibrate the simulator using X-Sim. X-Sim is a powerful freeware program which captures and transmits the real time telemetry from the game itself. Essentially, this flight simulator will become an accurate, Force Feedback device! An IL-2 and MSF X plug-ins already exist.
Anyone interested in taking over this project should be comfortable with computing. The X-Sim software is complicated but there is plenty of advice at http://www.x-simulator.de/forum/.
The only thing else you’d need is an air compressor. The simulator just needs 1.5-2 bar. If you are interested in running driving sims you’ll need to up the pressure to 3 bar.
I am asking 1200 euros. Not a bad price for an individual and an excellent price if you buy it together with your flying group.
I am located in Helsinki if you’d like to make an appointment to see the simulator. Please email me at flying_colander@yahoo.com if you have questions or would like to request more photos.
Cheers,
Flying Colander
